Title: Defensible Disposition, Decoded: Turn Deletion Into a Strategic Advantage

In a world of exploding data and AI-driven workflows, keeping everything is the riskiest choice. Join this interactive session to learn how Legal, Privacy, IT, and the business can align to make timely, auditable deletion decisions—without sacrificing ethics or agility. We’ll unpack simple, practical steps to reconcile legal holds with retention schedules, use automation and AI responsibly, and prove compliance to regulators, auditors, and courts. Walk away with a clear blueprint, real-world controls, and metrics that show measurable risk reduction.
Presenter:   Matthew Krengel, Esq.
  • Matthew Krengel is an information governance and eDiscovery attorney, educator, and thought leader with more than twenty years of experience at AMLAW top 25 law firms translating complex legal and technical subjects into clear, actionable guidance. Each year, he is invited to speak at leading legal and information governance conferences nationwide, where he focuses on turning legal, regulatory, and technical concepts into practical strategies for lawyers, records and information managers, and legal technologists. His insights have appeared in Law360 and other legal publications, and he has presented to a wide range of industry audiences - from local ARMA chapters across the country to Fortune 500 legal departments - on developments in eDiscovery, AI, records management, information governance, privacy, defensible deletion, data minimization and analytics. These experiences have given Matt a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the field and have honed a speaking style that is engaging, informative, and entertaining.

In addition to conference presentations, Matt designs and delivers live and on-demand CLE courses that balance academic rigor with practical application. He also assists in teaching a law school course on eDiscovery and information governance, helping to shape the next generation of professionals. Equally comfortable as a solo presenter or as part of a dynamic panel, Matt is committed to delivering sessions that are engaging, relevant, and, most importantly, actionable, so attendees leave with ideas they can immediately put into practice at their organizations.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

The Ethical Imperatives Behind Records and Information Governance

Taking proper care of our records and information is vital to our ability to do our jobs and meet our legal obligations. But, there's an ethical imperative to perform our duties that far outweighs our day-to-day responsibilities.

How we ensure accuracy, execute retention, maintain privacy, etc. directly affects the people whose information it is, and we need to approach governance with gravitas if we are to gain, sustain and foster their trust.

In this session attendees will learn:
  • What it means to be ethical
  • How to directly connect ethics, IG and real-world outcomes
  • Strategies to operationalize ethics

Speaker:
Steve Weissman is Founder & CEO at Holly Group where he helps you get the most value you can from your information. His goal is your goal: to reduce compliance risks and unlock business opportunities.
